Bruce Springsteen Weekend

To anyone who has known me recently, I have become totally obsessed with Bruce Springsteen’s music. It’s high energy, high fun music that’s great for any occasion. And well, luckily enough I started liking him soon enough that I’ve been able to catch what I can only assume will be the last Bruce Springsteen tour that includes the E Street Band (which is what makes his music so awesome).

I went to two concerts in Oakland when I thought there were going to be no tour stops in the Northwest. I bought general admission tickets which is sort of the mosh pit sort of area. But Bruce does this thing were you’re let in randomly so people don’t have to camp out for weeks to get a good seat (standing spot is more appropriate I suppose). So everyone in GA gets a wristband with a number on it and then they draw a number and that number is considered number 1. Why am I telling you this?

I went to two concerts. The first time my number was like 100 which put me about four rows back from center stage. The second concert I was number 10. I was leaning against the stage. The concerts could not have been more incredible.

After a while Bruce announced more concerts and I jumped at the chance to buy tickets for those and see him as many times as I can before he gets too old or decides to go back to his slow folkish type music. Make no mistake about it. This is a rock concert. It’s crazy loud and there is so much energy in the stadium, and everyone is singing along with Bruce, It’s amazing.

So tonight I head to Portland to prepare for tomorrow’s concert at the Rose Garden. Saturday morning I will then return to Seattle to catch his next performance at Key Arena. Sunday will be a day of rest, and then on Monday I get to go see my Mariners open up their season against the Texas Rangers at Safeco Field. But that’s an entirely different rant altogether. BRUUUUUUUUUUUUCE!

Oh and by the way, that picture, was taken by the guy standing next to us. Close huh?

Click to read more and I’ve attached a video of him in concert with one of his more folky type songs that he’s done over with a more rock riff from ZZTop’s La Grange.
